Constitutional Amendments & Prohibition
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, published in 1925,
takes place in the summer of 1922 - right in the
midst of Prohibition. Prohibition consequently has major
effects on the lives of the novel’s characters and on its plot
as a whole.
